productize Edison with Arduino Board

Jump to solution

Hi,

just wanted to ask, if it's possible to finalize (and in the end to sell this in the market) a product that is based on Edison Arduino Board? I'm mainly interested in the legal point of view.

I've read one thread that suggested that Edison running on either Mini-breakout board or Arduino Board is not suitable for production (not sure if this was mentioned mainly because of the size of all the components / higher power requirements or the main point were the legal consequences)

I'm sorry if there is already some other discussion that answers my question (couldn't find any).

Thank you for the clarification.

Hi g3jza,

You can use the Edison in your final product, regarding the legal point of view you just need to check the certifications needed for the country where the product will be available.

It's a prototype board, and it's overly bulky and expensive.
