Hello,
as mentioned in the headline I bought a brand new Samsung SSD 870 QVO 1 TB and replaced my old Crucial 0,5 TB. When I restarted my NUC it went slow and when I checked with Samsung Magician it showed me that this SSD was nor recognized as SATA III but only SATA II - I checked with Crystal Mark the transfer speed and the numbers confirmed this slow connection (max 280 MB/s seq. Transfer speed - should be >400 MB/s) What can I try to get the SSD properly working? Btw. my old Crucial SSD showed Transfer speed up 490 MB/s in this NUC.
Kind Regards
Sebastian

I have heard of this happening if the SATA Power/Data cable is not connected properly. You may have accidentally pulled it too hard when replacing the drive. Try reseating the cable in the connector.
Hope this helps,

Hello Scott,
just checked and tested: the same "cage" and "cable" in my 10i5FNH: Old Crucial SDD attached and connected SATA III speed - new Samsung 870 QVO will only be attached with SATA II... Both scenarios are verified with CrystalMark data....
Thank you for your idea - no I am sure that it is not related to the cable.
Kind regards
Sebastian

Hello Sebastian_04,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.
So we can better assist you, please provide the following:
1. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) and attach the report generated:
- Open the application, check the "Everything" box, and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
- Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".
- Use the option under the reply window to attach the report to the thread (Drag and drop here or browse files to attach).
2. Have you checked with Samsung* if perhaps you are missing a driver or firmware update?
3. Are you able to test this drive on another PC? If yes, what is the outcome?

Dear Sebastian,
after I checked my NUC 10i5 with the recommended SSU software it became clear, that the SSD had a hardware controller mistake (error). The protocol and also the Windows 10 "Windows EventViewer" showed a hardware disc error. I decided to send back the SSD to where I had bought it.
Best regards
Sebastian
