7i7BNH cannot install network drivers

The driver install fails with the message "No NICS present"

I've tried 22.3 and a few older versions. No luck.

Any suggestions?

Verify that you haven't mistakenly disabled the onboard NIC in the BIOS.

Scott,

This has been an issue for me with *every* *single* NUC that I've deployed now with the new 7th gen models. Drivers fail to install, but you can reboot and monkey around and screw with it and it will *eventually* install. It's a real pain in the butt. I make an image for my builds once I get one stable so it's less of an issue for a system builder but a real nightmare for average users.

I'm literally looking at one now that I'm building a new image for Windows 10 Pro... and it says it cannot install drivers, because no device is present. It's not disabled. I've done this countless times.

To follow up:

Driver installation fails

Device manager shows unknown device

Remove the device and scan for hardware changes, and it will suddenly find a new ethernet adapter..... and enable it.

This has been a problem since this model released.... as a matter of fact this has been a problem on ALL kaby lake systems I've been on the Intel 1219-V

I have used literally every Desktop Board ever produced. I have samples of every NUC model since (and including) WY (I got rid of the older ones). I also have samples of every Compute Stick model. I have *never*, *ever* had an issue with the installation or operation of the onboard NIC. I honestly don't understand what you could be doing to cause this. While I use Windows 7 if I can, all of the 6th and 7th gen NUCs are on Windows 10. Again, I have never seen an issue...

Thanks, Following cwizardtx's advice it's working...

uninstall all "other" devices, restart & confirm LAN

is enabled in BIOS & on boot the LAN is present.

Now I'll repeat to see if I can get Scott's behavior

after downloading the drivers package to my USB

boot drive :-).

After the Win10Enterprise install, before updating the drivers the device manager shows

the "Ethernet" and "Network" controllers as "other devices". No change after installing

LAN_WIN10_64_22.3 . However after installing the Wireless driver I re-installed the

LAN driver which still claimed "No Intel Adapters Present" but an uninstall/rescan in

the device manager and the adapter is fine.

I also ran the BIOS update bnkbl357.86a.0047.eb & repeated the Win10E install

but the same process prevailed.

I'll call it fixed/answered for now. Thanks for your time.

Cheers,

Joe
