8th gen NUC Thunderbolt Port to Studio Display Issue

Does anyone know how to properly connect an 8th gen NUC to a new Apple Studio display via the thunderbolt port on the back of the NUC (drivers, BIOS settings, etc...)? Just connecting the devices via a thunderbolt cable seems to transfer audio but no video. I have connected a Lenovo laptop via USB-C to the Studio Display with no issues, so I know a Windows 11 based PC will work with the Studio Display. I'm not sure why my NUC thunderbolt port fails to transfer video. The BIOS has the thunderbolt device checkbox checked (any other settings I should address?). I'm running a recent clean install of Win 11 on the NUC.  I'm really desperate here - any advice would be welcomed. Many thanks in advance.

Hello @RSmit42

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to review this further, could you please provide us with the following information?

1- Did this configuration (Intel® NUC + Apple* Studio Display) work fine before? Or are you having this behavior since the first day that you have the devices?

2- Is this the "Apple* Studio Display" that you have? Link >> https://www.apple.com/studio-display/specs/

(It says is a "5K Retina display" with one Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port and three USB-C ports).

If not, please provide a link as a reference.

3- Are you using a straight-through connection USB-C to-USB-C with a single cable to connect the display? Or are you using any type of video/cable adapters, converters, or dockings? Please provide details.

4- Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system:

  • Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer
  • Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click Next and click Save.
  • Once you have saved the file (.txt file), please attach it to your reply.

To upload and attach a file, use the "Drag and drop here or browse files to attach" option below the response textbox.
