Latest WHQL driver still doesn't work with HVK (Hades Canyon NUC).

Hello SRyan10

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

We would like to inform you that we are currently investigating this matter with AMD*.

In the meantime, our recommendation is to stay with driver version 20.2.2:

You should safely assume that 20.4.1 was and is the last working Adrenalin driver version. In other words, I would not bother testing the Adrenalin driver downloads anymore as they've clearly stopped Hades Canyon support. However, you can still use the latest Adrenalin drivers but in an unofficial 'hack' kind of way which involves downloading the Adrenalin drivers, extracting them to a folder with 7zip, going to device manager, selecting display adapters and the Vega adapter (might be named Microsoft if you're doing a clean install which is preferable) and updating the driver by manually choosing from a list via an inf file inside the extracted Adrenalin folder. Obviously this is very 'unofficial' and not necessarily fully supported but it works for many. I recommend going to NUC Blog for more specific info.

Unfortunately, this has been an issue since April 2020.  After more than six months, it sure would be nice to see Intel stop "investigating" this, and start doing something to rectify it.

This situation happened with Cedar View/Trail also a few years back, it's highly unlikely you'll ever see another officially supported graphics driver now for the Hades Canyon on Windows.

I'd highly recommend switching your NUC's over to a current Linux distro instead where the kernel support is excellent, but failing that you can always install the latest Radeon drivers manually without the control panel, though you'll obviously lack some functionality with that method.

Running older drivers is not recommended IMHO, you're going to hit a bug sooner or later unless you're strictly running older applications.
