Add a switch button

Do you have a solution to deport the on / off button of the Intel Nuc C8i5beh.
I was advised to connect a switch to on pins 6 and 8 of the front panel header.
Is this the right solution because I'm afraid of short-circuiting my mini computer!!
I accept the best solution to be able to install a switch on an arcade terminal without having to touch the Nuc Power button which is inside the arcade terminal thank you

.
Ps : I would like to thank Mr. Léon who offered me this solution.

You were advised correctly; an external (single pole, normally open) power button should be connected to pins 6 and 8 of the Front Panel connector. Pressing the button shorts (connects) the control pin (6) to a ground pin (8).

This is documented in the BE NUC TPS, which you can download through here: Intel NUC Technical Product Specifications.

Hope this helps,

Hi @edeun

I confirm, you may use the external switch, shorting between terminal 6-8 on the Front Panel Header, however this should be momentary switch. This switch depressed to at least  50 ms, signals the NUC to switch ON and next time to OFF.
