Audio Headphone Output Not Working

Jump to solution

I have a new NUC 8i7BEH. I have installed the audio drivers which should allow use of the headphone socket. It dosen't work. Inserting the headphone socket dosent cut off the sound from the speakers and there is no sound to the headphones.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers. Still not working. My main audio output is to Creative Bluetooth speakers. My video output is from the USB/Thunderbolt socket to Display Port in on the monitor. I have noted that there is no

Realtek HD Audio icon in Control Panel. Any help appreciated.

In order to use 3.5mm jack Audio output you need to install the following Realtek driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28097/Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver-for-Windows-10-... Download Realtek* High Definition Audio Driver for Windows® 10 64-bit for the Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i7BE, NUC8i5BE, NUC8i3B… Did you installed this driver?

Is there are driver for Linux systems?  I use Linux Mint.

I found this: https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/pc-audio-codecs-high-definition-audio-codecs-softw...

But the notes are incoherent and has to be compiled locally.  That's okay, but the sources are from 2014, and I hesitate to install something that old at the system level.

I solved the problem.  Everything is built into Linux but you just have to switch it on.  Here is my successful setting (in Linux Mint, Sound menu):

It's the last setting, Analogue Serio Duplex for the Built-in Audio of the NUC that makes the audio socket work.

Yes, thank you that driver works. Can I just mention that I did download the driver from this llink........... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/126140/Intel-NUC-Kit-NUC8i7BEH Downloads for Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i7BEH ....... I removed and reinstalled it a few times and downloaded it twice but it did not install/work correctly.

Might be a corrupted download or maybe the driver on that link has a bug?

"Yes, thank you that driver works..." - means that the audio work now? Please clarify.
