I just got a new Intel NUC8i7HVK yesterday and I'm having issues trying to sort out my audio. On the back port/SPIF I have my speakers hooked into it for general sound. That works well.
What I'm having issues with is the front audio port. When I hook up my gaming headset with it's own mic, the system doesn't seem to recognized that I'm using that mic. It seems to be picking up my voice from the internal microphone array. I've disabled the array, but it still doesn't pick up my headset's mic. I've played around with the settings but I'm having no luck.
I've downloaded the latest drivers through the Intel website and everything is all up to date.

Did you check that the plug on your headset correspond to the definition on figure 3, page 23 in Technical Product Specification? : https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/mini-pcs/nuc-kits/NUC8i7HVK_TechProdSpec.pdf
