hi.

I know how to perform a bios recovery.

my question is wither there's a difference between bios recovery and reinstalling bios with F7 option.

the process seems to be the same.

thanx

BIOS Recovery may recover corrupted BIOS, but the ME and EC firmware is not updated in this process. So, if your BIOS is not corrupted, better use the F7 method in order to have complete update. Or, in other words, if you have updated BIOS with the F4 or Jumper method, you should still update BIOS with F7 method or Express Update method.

Thanx

So, If i understand correctly the F7 function is more thorough than bios recovery.

Is that right ?

Correct, F7 update (or Express update from Windows) is more thorough than recovery. Use recovery in case that BIOS was corrupted during F7 update.

Note that it is only the EC firmware that may not get updated during a BIOS Recovery process. Restoring the operation of the ME is a major part and reason for the BIOS Recovery process. It better be updated; if it isn't, that's a critical firmware bug and recovery would be impossible. The only time that the ME firmware shouldn't be updated during the BIOS recovery process is if a downgrade of the ME firmware is being attempted. In this case, however, the recovery process would be aborted and nothing would be updated.
