BOXNUC7CJYSAL2 Windows 10 Home S mode

Hello!

This model, from revision number J67993-403 included, comes with preinstalled Windows 10 Home x64 "S mode". It's not specified ANYWHERE. This S mode basically means that you cannot install any other software than the one from Microsoft store. However, it is possible to "switch" to standard Win10Home version, but you need Microsoft account for that. And, more over, this procedure has a lot off issues, so you need a quite a new OS build version (1909) in order to switch easily (the one I got preinstalled was too old for "switch" - Microsoft store was not working properly, saying there is no internet connection 😕 ). https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4020089/windows-10-in-s-mode-faq

So, be careful...

This may clarify things for you, and help you switch out of S mode:

Thank you for the link / update, but, unfortunately, even with Microsoft support guy connected remotely, we couldn't perform this switch.

Only when I have installed newest Windows version (1909) I succeeded to perform this switch.

That is the reason I posted this.
