BXNUC9i7QNX1 Legacy Boot

Hello all,

We recently were sent this NUC 9 Extreme Kit. In order to work with our PXE server we need to be able to use Legacy boot over the network.

The problem that I'm running into is that it seems like Legacy is simply not supported at all. I could not get Legacy enabled on BIOS version 34 and after updating to 54 the Legacy option has disappeared completely. I feel like I've tried everything.

Can someone either point me towards a solution or let me know if Legacy is simply not possible with this machine. Thank you.

Hello ShawnW

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In the following link, you can find the general steps to enable Legacy Boot when the option is greyed out.

Legacy Boot is Greyed Out in BIOS Setup >> https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000032529/intel-nuc.html

However, for this Intel® NUC 9 Extreme Kit - NUC9i7QNX, if you don't see the option is because it is not available for this model and the Intel® NUC only supports UEFI mode. This option has been removed from those BIOS.

Would you mind letting us know how many units you have affected by this feature?

Best regards,
