BayHubTech Integrated MMC/SD causing blue screens on Windows 10 1809 with newest drivers

Jump to solution

Hello everyone

I've got Windows 10 1809 (current build number 134) and ever since this last update BayHubTech Integrated MMC/SD stopped working, or rather it is misbehaving. If I use it with Intel supplied driver (newest one according to support pages) I get instant blue screen (INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR) whenever I insert SD Card. I have found newer driver online within Microsoft Update Catalogue (Lenovo also hosts it on its website) with version number 1.1.101.1024 and it is much better because I can insert SD Card and read it without blue screen. However if I remove card, I instantly get aforementioned blue screen. BayHub is getting there but not quite is there.

None of these issues occur on 1803. I'd like to ask fellow forum members running 1809 to try using SD Card and post their results. I'd also like to ask any Intel employee reading this to forward this information to engineering.

If anybody has this issue as well, you need to install BayHubTech/O2Micro Integrated MMC/SD controller driver version 2.2.2.1080. I know it is not how this device is called by Intel Driver & Support Assistant but it seems to work. You can grab it here: http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=BayHubTech/O2Micro+Integrated+MMC/SD+controlle... Microsoft Update Catalog http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=BayHubTech/O2Micro+Integrated+MMC/SD+controlle... http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=BayHubTech/O2Micro+Integrated+MMC/SD+controlle...

It's funny because this driver is two years older than 1.1.101.1024 but it has higher version number. Just magic.
