Best way to connect hi res display?

Hi,

what's the best way to connect a display (QHD or 4K) to my NUC7i5BNK? HDMI/HDMI, HDMI/Displayport (with adapter), Thunderbolt/HDMI or Thunderbolt/Displayport?

Thanks for sharing your experience,

Stefano

Hi Stefano.Fereri,

Thank you for choosing Intel products, let me help you on this matter.

For 4K video support, you need:

High-speed HDMI cable. Standard-speed HDMI cables will not support 4K.

DisplayPort to DisplayPort video cable.

The usage of video cables might limit resolution size.

Please check the following information about 4k resolution

Hi Allan,

thanks for input. My problem is that I plan to use an Eizo EV3237. This display is not capable of 4K/60Hz via HDMI, only via DP. So I cannot use HDMI to HDMI cable nor DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable (the NUC has not DP). Having 4K with 60Hz will not work in this scenario, right? Or could I use DP to HDMI adapter?

Regards,

Stefano

Remember that the native output of the processor is DP. It takes a DP-to-HDMI IC to facilitate the HDMI output.

Now, the output in the TBT stream *is* DP. Thus, to support your 4K DP monitor, your best bet is a TBT-to-DP adaptor.

Hope this helps,
