Black Screen after Remote Desktop

I seem to have this bizarre issue with an NUC8i7BEH after remote desktop connection is established the screen goes blank, it stays blank and there is no way to exit it unless you reboot the machine. The machine is still running fine and key press does register however the screen is again blank. Removing monitor switching display will not fix this.

Running latest drivers / software for Windows 10. Monitor is a ASUS ROC using HDMI.

Also i am unable to find the HDMI stats of max resolution and refresh rates
