Bluetooth Speakers

My excellent NUC 8i7BEH is connected to my smart TV which is connected to a Bose TV Solo sound system (a single box located under the tv) optically. Can I improve my sound system by adding Bluetooth speakers configured from the NUC or has the audio signal got to have left the NUC before it can be fiddled with?

Thank you.

JRayn3, Thank you very much for clarifying that information and providing those details.

For this specific scenario, to connect the Bluetooth speakers to the Intel® NUC will not be an option to improve the sound in your platform, basically because every time that you connect an audio device to the computer you will need to choose in "Sound Settings" a "Playback Device", and in this case, you will need to select either the Bose Sound-box or the Bluetooth speakers, they will not work together at the same time.

JRayn3, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

In reference to your inquiry, for us to be able to provide the most accurate response we just wanted to confirm a few details:

What is the model of the Smart TV?

What is the model of the Bose TV Solo sound system?

Could you please provide a detailed description of what do you mean by "has the audio signal got to have left the NUC before it can be fiddled with?"

You mentioned that you want to improve the sound system by adding Bluetooth speakers, so, could you please let us know what is it that you are trying to achieve?

What is the configuration that you are trying to accomplish?

Hi Alberto R,

Thank you for your interest in my little project. Among other uses, one of my principle uses for the NUC8i7BEH is to watch streaming videos such as YouTube, Netflix etc. The unit runs Windows 10 and is connected by a high quality HDMI cable to an LG 55 EG910V smart TV. I do not use the speakers on the TV, instead I have connected the TV to a Bose Solo TV sound system using an optical audio cable.

Whereas the sound output is significantly better than the TV’s own tinny sounding speakers, it is still concentrated coming out of the single device. I want to improve the sound experience by having additional speakers either side of me but without ugly wiring, hence the query about Bluetooth speakers.

I know the NUC has a Bluetooth facility but I do not know if this same facility has the ability to send the audio signal from, say a YouTube video, to the Bluetooth speakers in sync. with the Bose output. That is what I meant in my poorly worded comment.

If this were possible I would want to get a pair of quality Bluetooth speakers but would not want to get them only to find they do not work. Hence the enquiry.

I hope I have explained it all more thoroughly and I would welcome your thoughts on the subject. Thank you.
