Bluetooth keyboard slow to activate

Ever since I installed Windows 10 2004 bluetooth has become a major problem.

At first, I could not connect two bluetooth devices:  My mouse and my keyboard.

After installing Microsoft KB4568831 and updating to the latest Intel drivers that problem disappeared.

  • Bluetooth Driver:  21.110.0
  • Wifi Driver:  21.90.3
  • Video Driver:  27.20.100.8476

 Unfortunately,

A New Unexpected Issue appeared:

It now takes about 20 to 30 key presses before the keyboard will wake up after booting.  It also periodically stops responding for periods of about 30 seconds.

I am not allowing Windows 10 to put bluetooth devices to sleep in the device manager.  Any other settings I need to be aware of?

Thank you.

@Ronny_G_Intel Here is the SSU output from my NUC, running latest BIOS and all drivers are up to date.  Also I am on Windows 10 Pro 19041.508 which is the latest update, beyond the build in KB456883 so it should have all cumulative fixes.

The only Bluetooth devices connected are a Logitech MX Keys keyboard and a Logitech M720 mouse.  The mouse seems to work fine, the keyboard has the delay when connecting issue.

Bluetooth driver 21.120.0.4 seems to have really improved the situation for me.

Just installed 21.120.0.4 and noticed an immediate improvement.  I'll see how it goes throughout the day, but it seems 21.120.0.4 might have resolved the issue.

Hi AZguy and MikeBurrito,

I have done some testing but I havent been able to replicate this issue, did the BT_21.120.0 driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29876/Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-for-Windows-10 improved the device performance or fixed the issue? Please confirm, I would use your information to report back to the product team.

Thanks,

Ronny G

Yes, my problems seem to be resolved in driver version 21.120.0.4.  Hopefully that is the case for everyone else as well.
