Can the new Hades Canyon's CPU bottleneck a 1080 Ti via thunderbolt 3?

The new hades canyon uses this processor:

Intel Core i7-8705G

Kaby Lake, 4C/8T3.1GHz (up to 4.1GHz), 14nm+, 8MB L265W Package TDP

I am thinking of connecting an eGPU (1080 Ti) to its thunderbolt 3 and was wondering if I can get the full potential out of this graphics card.

Thunderbolt 3 is four lane PCIe 3 while the 1080Ti supports up to sixteen lanes. First glance means limit to 25% of capacity. So no, technically you can not get full potential from a Thunderbolt connection. Thanks for the useful link. What I'm concerned now is that the CPU might bottleneck the connected GPU compared to a desktop CPU like the i7 8700.

Why would it? The unit is designed to present you with a much, much better video solution so you can avoid having to resort to things like eGPUs....

The integrated GPU is good for 1080p gaming mostly.
