Checkboard artifact and squares instead of icons

I've recently started having problems with my NUC6i5SYH using two 19" monitors, one by HDI, one by display port.

When I use Alt+Tab to switch applications, a white/transparent checkboard board appears on some of the thumbnails displayed. When doing other things the same effect is sometimes applied to the whole screen.

The icons/buttons of some applications are also displayed as white squares instead of the design and colour intended. It's making it hard to get things done.

This occurs on both monitors. I've swapped the HDMI cable out for another one too.

It happens all the time, not just when the NUC is whirring - though I do feel it does that excessively.

Attached is the output from the Intel System Support Utility.

Please can you give me any ideas on resolving this problem.

You are on graphics driver release 1191. The latest release is 1660, so you are far behind. I suggest that you try this latest release. It is available here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344

Don't worry about the fact that the latest release on your NUC's download page is an earlier release; this NUC has been discontinued and thus no validation of subsequent driver releases is talking place on this NUC (nor will it).

Hope this helps,

Superb, I think that has fixed it!

Is there anything else out of date?

I have lots of problems with sound cutting off/quality with USB/Bluetooth microphones on video calls too
