Connecting 5 Samsung UHD screens to NUC8i7HNK

Hi,

We created a "video wall" using 5 Samsung and one NUC NUC8i7HNK.  Works great until the reboot happens, such as an update from our IS&T department.  When that happens you have disconnect each display cable and connect them one at a time, and having to organize the arrangement of the displays, 1-5 and their physical location to each other on the wall.

Is there a more powerful NUC we could purchase to handle 5 displays on reboot?

Thanks,

Mike

Unless I am misinterpreting the specs, the forthcoming Phantom Canyon NUC can support eight (yes, eight!) 4K monitors. That's 4 monitors via the discrete RTX 2060 Graphics engine and 4 monitors via the embedded Iris Xe Graphics engine. This does require use of multiple MST Hubs or DP Daisy-Chains to accomplish. Without them, this would be limited to 4 monitors.

What is unclear to me is whether or not this will also be plagued by the monitor rearranging issue.

You can see the picture when connected to DisplayPort, but not when connected to HDMI.

The Windows login screen doesn't appear.

The 4K display shows Input Not Supported.

The picture turns on and off.

Your 4K display might require a firmware update.

The HDMI driver isn't installed.

The HDMI driver is outdated.

The HDMI cable may not be a high-speed (category 2) cable.
