Custom bios logo with latest bios KYSKLi70.86A

Hi

I just tried to update the nuc skull with my own custom logo - followed the instructions from the intel intrgator toolkit pdf and made a .bio file with my jpg - No errors.

After a restart i pressed f7 to go to the bios update screen and selected my newly created .bio file. It then restarts to a screen where i can press 9 to allow updating/upgrading. The nuc

tries to install the .bio file but restarts after 1 second without updating the bios logo. I have updated several other (older) nucs logos without problem.

Is the nuc skull really supported in the integrator toolkit and with bios logo update?

Hi skulluserdk: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® NUC communities. We are sorry to hear the NUC is not working as expected.

In regard to your inquiry, yes, the Intel® Integrator Toolkit supports the Intel® NUC6i7KYK, as you can confirm on the list of products on the following link:

https://ark.intel.com/products/89187/Intel-NUC-Kit-NUC6i7KYK https://ark.intel.com/products/89187/Intel-NUC-Kit-NUC6i7KYK

Remember that the size of the picture cannot exceed 60Kb and should be:

Height - minimum 120, maximum 1080

Width - minimum 120, maximum 1920

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Ok, thank you for replying

I tested updating the logo with the 3 jpgs(\Intel_Default_Splash_Screen\NUC) that comes with the integrator toolkit but still the same problem

Computer starts, I press f7, selects the .bio, computer restarts, I press 9 to accept, computer restart before completing the update, Logo not updated

The nuc is connected to a screen with HDMI and a usb keyboard is also connected. I use a 4 GB usb - fat32 formatted

skulluserdk: You are welcome. Thank you very much for providing those details.

Just to confirm, if you do a normal BIOS update to the latest version: 0050, using the F7 method, does it get installed properly?

If it does, please test the Intel® ITK application again to confirm if it works properly.

Any questions, please let me know.

One of the first things I did when I recieved the skull was to update the bios to version 0050. I used f7 to update to 0050. After that I installed Windows 10 and updated everything. Then i tried to update the bios logo - first creating a custom .bio with ITK with this:

"ITK6.efi –b –x skull.bio –il customnuc.jpg". I then rebooted and pressed f7 and selected the skull.bio file with the new logo. And then I get the error mentioned above

skulluserdk: I just received an update on this matter, actually on the Intel® NUC6i7KYK it is not possible to make a custom bio file with an image, you need to use an existing bio file (KY0050.bio) and use that one to create a custom BIOS with the following command: ITK6.efi -b -x customerbiosname.bio -ib KY0050.bio -il imagedesired.jpg

Also, if you have the option, please test the tool using a jpg image.

Any questions, please let me know.
