Hello,
I bought an used DC3217IYE, relatively cheap and out of warranty. Works fine except one thing: I get constant crashes/lockups with screen flashing whenever I install the drivers for the integrated GPU (HD 4000). Tried different drivers versions, different OSes, BIOS versions... No luck. However, when a basic display driver is installed, everything's fine.
In my opinion, that part of the hardware is faulty but it's sad to put it in the trash and I have enough servers to use it that way. Any ideas that could prevent the GPU from crashing ? Crazy ideas are accepted !
Regards,
Laurent.

First of all, start with drivers that are made available from the IY's download page (here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/71275/Intel-NUC-Kit-DC3217IYE Downloads for Intel® NUC Kit DC3217IYE).
Second, I have seen situations where something similar to this was happening and the issue was determined to be the memory. Make sure you are using memory that is on the compatibility list for this NUC.
Hope this helps,
...S

Sorry for the (very) late reply.
Memory was the issue for the flickering. Replacement RAM fixed that, and failed again, to a point that it won't accept to boot with any stick.
Sadly, this NUC finished its career to the trash
