DSAServiceHelper: Repeated installation of LAN driver 12.15.25.6

There is an endless loop in the installation request of the actual LAN driver.

It seems that the service helper isn't able to detect the installed version or the new driver package has an old version number...

In my case the wireless driver was updated correctly, after reboot only (and again) the LAN driver schould be installed.

Regards

Holger

Hi kho,

Thank you for the report. I appreciate it.

Based on the information, I noticed that your computer is currently running the latest LAN driver for the Intel® Ethernet Connection I219-V.

The latest should be 12.15.25.6 as shown on the picture attached, this is the same driver version from your computer.

I have tested the following driver version

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26481/Intel-Gigabit-Ethernet-Network-Connection-Driver-for... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26481/Intel-Gigabit-Ethernet-Network-Connection-Driver-for...

Hope it helps.

Hi Allen,

thanks for your info. But it didn't help...

I've download and installed the above driver, the version in the device manager after installing is the same as the version before: 12.15.25.6.

And the DSA tool (I've started a rescan) still wants to reinstall this driver.

Which property at which location does the DSA check in the PC configuration (the driver version in the SSU output (see above) seems to be correct)?

Regards

Holger

Hi kho,

Thank you for the update. I will report this matter internally, thanks for the feedback.

In the meantime, since the report shows that you are currently running the latest LAN driver, there is no need to get different version for now.

Regards,

Similar problem here: Got Version 12.15.25.6 of Intel Ethernet Connection I219-V and cannot update to DSA-recommended Version 22.7.1 all attempts failed even deinstallation failed. Always end up with 12.15.25.6

The installation packages (like 22.7.1) include a set of drivers that support a number of hardware MAC and PHY solutions. The version numbers for these individual drivers will vary, depending upon the number of versions of that driver that have been necessary. Do not, even for a minute, think that, after the package is installed, the version number of any driver installed is going to be (in this case) 22.7.1. Further, two releases of the installation package could contain the same version of a particular driver (if it doesn't need to be replaced, it doesn't get replaced). Thus, the installation of an upgrade package could very well overinstall with the same version of a particular driver. This does not mean that something has gone wrong.
