Disable Secure Boot

I received Intel NUC11PAHi5 and installed windows 10 on top of it. Just realize, after the installation process, check the BIOS it is secure boot enabled. So what is the risk of allowing the secure boot option?

I checked the documentation of the new Aptio BIOS; nowadays, there is no way to enable UEFI boot without allowing secure boot; please kindly advise what should I do if:

1. I want to reinstall the OS. Do I need to do something before the re-installation begin

2. Replace the HDD/SSD. Do I need to do special activities to do that?

In the new APTIO BIOS, there are two options to reset the secure boot. Which one do I need to choose?

Thanks,

Regards,

Adhari

Hi Adhari,

Secure Boot enabled ensures that your NUC is booting from O.S. trusted by Intel.  FYI, Secure Boot, UEFI boot, Intel PTT enabled in BIOS, are mandatory is you want to upgrade your O.S. to Windows 11.

In conclusion, leave the Secure Boot in the default setting (i.e. enabled).
