Hi
If I had a 12th generation NUC that has two graphics cards (one integrated and one discrete) and 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, is it possible to connect a ThunderBolt 4 monitor by having it take advantage of the discrete graphics card)? If yes, how can I do it?
Thanks

Excuse me, but, if a person purchases a twelfth-generation NUC with an internal discrete graphics card and a monitor with a ThunderBolt 4 port, he cannot connect this monitor and take advantage of the discrete graphics card. Right?
Frankly, that seems impossible to me.
Thanks

For example, in a NUC like this Intel® NUC 12 Enthusiast Mini PC - NUC12SNKi72VA that mounts an Intel Arc, is it possible to connect a monitor with the ThunderBolt 4 cable to take advantage of both this connection and this discrete graphics card?
Thanks

Hello Balubeto,
Please be aware that the Thunderbolt 4 ports are connected directly to the integrated graphics, therefore, if you would like to take advantage of the Intel® Arc™ Graphics, you will need to plug it to the HDMI or DisplayPort back panel connectors.
Feel free to check the Technical Product Specifications document for further information: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/intel-nuc/NUC12SNK_TPS.pdf
Let me know if you have any additional concerns.
Best regards,

So, if a person, who has a monitor with ThunderBolt 4 technology, wanted to use an internal discrete graphics card such as the Intel A770M, how could he do that?
Thanks

In order to do that, you may use a video adapter/converter, although we do not recommend that as it may cause graphics issues, the best option would be to use a straight connection.
Please refer to the Intel® Arc™ A770M I/O specifications for further information: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/228341/intel-arc-a770m-graphics/specifications.html
Let me know if you have any additional concerns.
