I just bought a NUC 8i5BEH and downloaded the complete driver package. I installed all the drivers butdon't know if I need to install the Serial IO Driver since I don't know what it's purpuose is and if it is necessary at all.

Hi Perian,
Yes, you should install Serial IO Driver, although Windows install such default driver as a part of installation. This driver controls communication on Intel Serial IO I2C bus. Serial IO, means serial Input Output (connects Operating System and the external devices).

Just install https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html and let it tell you what drivers you need.
Also, what version of Windows 10 are you running?

Thank you for your answers. Both of them are correct as I just found out. The Serial Device is listed in the device manager. I installed Intel driver support assistant and it also showed the device and it seems like the correct driver is already installed (propably through windows update).
I am runing Windows 10 Pro x64 (Build 1809)
