I have two recently bought Intel NUC computer of the 8 series. One with i3 and one with i5 processor. Both running Linux (Andeavouros - a flavour of Arch linux - and Ubunutu respectively). I've tried today a new pair of earbuds + microphone combo, and both don't recognize the microphone. Before I look into the OS configuration, I would like to make sure that the audio jack indeed supports this combo.
Thanks

Both NUCs supports headphone/microphone combo (see para. 1.10 in Technical Product Specification, to see the audio jack definition). You should also install the supporting driver (as you probably know, Intel is not supporting Linux on this product).
