Good evening, I recently bought an i3 NUC8 and have been trying to get an IR controller to works with it. I am running Windows 10 enterprise with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.

I have used an ir sensor to test both the controllers I have and both function, but the onboard IR sensor doesn't see them Can you give me any pointers.

The IR sensor is switched on in the BIOS.

Are you saying your IR remote fails to be seen by the NUC? What IR remote are you using? Be specific.

You haven't provided enough information to understand what exactly we are looking at. There are multiple NUC8's with i3 processors. Please provide the full name for your NUC. Is it NUC8i3BE or is it NUC8i3CY?

Good morning to you both, thanks for answering.

I'm afraid I'm new to the NUC scene, so apologies for the lack of info, I just didn't know what you would need.

I've attached the Intel scan of my system, please let me know if you need more info.

The handcontrollers I've beent rying to work with are a Samsung BN59-00603A and a basic IR Infrared Media Remote Blu-Ray DVD Streaming Remote Control for Xbox One S & X.

What I'm looking to do is to use a remote to control Netflix and Amazon Prime. The setup I have is my NUC connected to my Asus Rt-AC3200 router, as is my Qnap Nas The screen I'm using is an Ilyama 40" monitor.

Let me know if you need more.

Thanks again

Does ICS (@Alex_Intel, @Bryce@Intel) have a remote similar to this for testing? I do not.

Hello IGarv, We tested two different infrared remote controls with Netflix (App) and Amazon Prime and here are the results. Hardware Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i7BEH Generic infrared remote control Xbox 360 Media Remote Result: Unless third-party software is installed on Intel® NUC units, it is not possible to use Netflix or Amazon Prime with infrared remote controls. We used a third-party application, which we cannot recommend, and we were were able to use Netflix successfully. Now, there are remote controls with Netflix and Amazon Keys that you may test since they seem to be programmed and designed to work with these services. It is also worth mentioning that these remote controls usually support other actions such as controlling the volume or putting the unit to sleep. Wanner G.
