I don't like my black lid ... I want to replace it. I see a lot of replacement lids for sale, but I don't see a clear one. I think it would look pretty cool!

Also, it is worth mentioning that Intel® doesn't manufacture custom lids. They are manufactured and sold by third-party companies or partners. Having said that, we recommend addressing this "feature request" for a clear lid to the different manufacturers or our Intel Innovation Partners (GoRite* and Simply NUC*) so they might consider this request.

I want to get on the waiting list for the pimped up NUC! I'm sure it's going to be a high-end gaming model, but that's okay ... I'll save up in the meantime!

You could 3D Print your own clear lid. There are templates available for the lid. For more information, start here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/docs/boards-kits/nuc/nuc-replaceable-lid-dxf-step.html.
FYI - I personally don't think that this is a worthwhile effort, however. There's a metal plate between you and the innards of the NUC, so not much of a view inside.
