I currently have a "Intel HD Graphics" Driver 20.19.15.4835 & when I run the Intel Support assistant it tells me I am up-to-date, but my AVG driver says that I need to update to 20.19.15.5063. what should I do?

What has AVG got to do with an Intel Nuc?

Provide the model number of your NUC, and provide the processor model number.

Sorry I did not realize that I used the wrong title when I wrote my question. It is not a NUC is a MS Surface 3

  1. What is your computer model?
  2. Are you running Windows 10?
  3. What is the Windows version?

Thanks for the quick reply I have Microsoft Surface 3 running the latest windows 10. My PC has been sluggish for a while & AVG supports says that it could be my Graphic Driver.

Please do not listen to that kind of rubbish from avg/avast.

Again, what processor do you have?

What version of windows 10? 1903?

The IDSA is intended for Intel boards/systems.

Download, run, and ATTACH the results of this utility:

Thanks for confirming about not listening to AVG. That is why I came here (didn't trust them fully).

I have windows 10 version 1903

The processor is 'Intel® Atom™ x7-Z8700 CPU @ 1.60GHz'

I will run the utility

One thing you should consider is that Microsoft is pretty good about taking care of the drivers for their Surface. Just because a "newer" driver may exist, it does not mean it is appropriate for your surface/hardware.

Regarding "sluggish", that can be caused by many things, including running AVG. Are you managing the storage on your surface? how many startup programs do you have? How much memory do you have?

What runs "sluggish"?

A better place for support of your surface is on the Microsoft support site?

That is what I though about MS. It is sluggish as type sometimes you have to wait few seconds for letters to appears. The mouse is slow responding needs to be wiggle a lot. I spent hours & hours on the Microsoft site trying to understand what is going on. the task manager CPU/disk is almost always running close to 100% (most of the time it's service host local service that is at the top). I rebuild this from scratch about 6 times. Every time that there is an update going on, it is unusable. I get the blue screen crash quite often. This week I decided to give it a last change (that is why I called AVG) before I go & buy an Apple. My gut feeling is that there is something wrong with the hardware/driver that is causing this since rebuilding it did not solve the problem.

There are only two startup program AVG & Windows security notification & I have disabled AVG & that did not help. I have 2GB of physical memory

Your (Cherry Trail) processor is supported. However, there are no downloads for you, meaning you must get the driver package from microsoft.

There are more than two startups, you just cannot see all of them.

You should still run the report I asked for and ATTACH it.

Thanks for all the help, greatly appreciated. I agree there probably other programs running. Currently the CPU is at 100% (as usual) the two main contributors are 'Microsoft Office Click-to-run' & 'Microsoft Edge'
