I have a NUC8i5INH that I can't get the IR receiver working on.

I have turned the IR on in the BIOS and loaded the most current driver for it. No errors were reported during the driver install but the NUC is unresponsive to my remote. I use a Logitech Harmony remote that works fine when the third party USB IR adapter is installed.

You need a MCE remote like:

RC2604302-01B Windows Media Center Remote Control

or Rosewill RHRC-11001 MCE remote

Look at section 2.2.4.3 here: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/mini-pcs/nuc-kits/NUC8i5INH_NUC8i7INH_TPS.pdf

I have a MCE remote that came with the receiver and it's Microsoft compliant. The Harmony is set up to send the same codes. I did try the MCE remote just to double check and it didn't work either.

What version of W10 are you running? 1903? Other?

Gave it a try and it didn't seem to work in my case.

Thank you for the info -

I found a setup that worked. In the Harmony software I had to add device called "windows media center". It then prompted me for a OS version. Once that was completed I was able to use the Harmony remote with the NUC's build it IR receiver.

Previously I had setup it up as a windows computer.

Thanks all -
