It does connect to the 2.4 g but no internet, other devices on same 2.4 g wifi work perfect...

This adapter has two antennas - one for 5GHz radio and the other for Bluetooth an 2.4GHz radio. Check if the antenna cables are firmly connected to the AUX connector. I assume that you have also problems with Bluetooth communication. The AC8265 is located under SSD drive. So in order to get access you need to remove the SSD first.

Also, have you checked your router configuration? It is possible that sandboxing is taking place.
