I have a standard RC6 Windows MCE IR remote.
I have a separate USB IR receiver dongle.
And I have Intel NUC NUC8i3CYSN with IR receiver built in.
At least I think the IR receiver is built into my 8i3CYSN as I have:
- ITECIR infrared receiver EC
- Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver
in Human Interface Devices part of Windows 10 device manager, and
- Enchanced Consumer IR (I have enabled the checkbox, of course)
in Devices -> Onboard Devices -> Legacy Device Configuration of Intel Visual BIOS.
In Intel Visual BIOS's IR settings I've tried both Generic Remote Controller and XBOX One Remote Controller.
While my MCE IR remote works well with the USB IR receiver dongle, I can't force it to use with my NUC8i3CYSN directly.
What have I missed? Any ideas?

There are a lot of remotes that use proprietary signalling but have a USB dongle that generates the corresponding RC6 codes.

Hello kacharava,
Thank you for posting on the Intel Communities.
I would like to check if you have performed the following steps:
Have you checked if the BIOS version installed is the latest available (0041)?
- If it is not up to date, I would recommend you to perform the BIOS update downloading the file on the following link:
- For BIOS update instructions, please use the following link:
- Note: My recommendation is to use the F7 method.
- Please try to uninstall the current Consumer Infrared Receiver driver and for installing the latest driver:
- If the issue persists after these updates/installations, please run the Intel® System Support Utility to have the details about the drivers installed: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-
- Click the menu where it says summary to change to Detailed View.
- To save your scan, click Next and click Save. You can save the file to any accessible location on your computer.
- Please attach the document into the next post.
- Please provide the RC6 Windows* MCE brand, and model number if possible.
Best Regards,

Thanks for the advise! I've uncovered my old good Logitech Harmony 785, added Microsoft MCE device (Intel PCs profiles have very little number of available buttons) and now it looks like everything works.
I've originally failed with ZOTAC MCE remote model RC2604323/01G, in case anyone interesing.

Have you ever noticed that the most useless advises come from official support techs?
Don't you find it funny? )))
