Hi,
The Intel LM225-LM network card in my NUC11 is having issues.
When i power on my NUC and leave it running the wired network connection drops after about one day.
This demonstrates in Windows that the NIC adapter is unable to ping any local (ex. the gateway) ip address.
I am using a static ip address on the NIC, but the behaviour is the same with DHCP.
When i restart the OS the NIC is still unable to connect to the network after a restart.
I have to physically power off (remove the power barrel plug from the NUC) to be able to connect to the network again.
This gives me another day i can work, after which i have to do the same power-off/on steps.
I have read that the LM225-LM has a lot of issues, could it be i have a faulty unit?
Other steps i have takes;
- Reinstall the OS
- Upgrade win10 to win11
- Reinstall the NIC driver using driver assistant
- Temporarily installed different computer on same switchport, never stops working.
- Swapped switch, problem remains
What steps should i take to diagnose further?
Thanks,
Z

Hello zyx360,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I understand you are having issues with your NUC.
In order to better assist you, please provide the following:
1. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.
- Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html
- Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click Next and click Save.
2. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed on your computer or did you change/install the adapter to this one?
3. Have you noticed any physical damage inside the NUC or the RJ45 port (Ethernet port)?
4. Is the issue present when you connect the unit via Wi-Fi and Ethernet cable?
5. What is the brand and model name of your router/modem?
Regards,
Deivid A.

Hi Deivid ,
Thanks for the quick reply!
1. Attached.
2. Yes, it's the original onboard 2.5Gbp adapter of the nuc11
3. No damage detectable, pins look normal
4. Yes, wired drops but wifi continues to operate normally
5. KPN experia v10
Just fyi, I have another older nuc (nuc7i5bnh) and when i connect that to the same switchport it stays connected. So for me personally that rules out the network/router.
Regards,
Peter
