Intel NUC D54250WYK - Bootable device error

MNguy21

Hi,

I recently just bought this Intel NUC. I've updated all drivers and software and is currently running bios 0022 on default settings.

I am beginning to get the "A bootable device has not been detected. Please contact Intel Support." This error has occurred at times when I boot up and sometimes randomly while the computer is idle. The screen would go black with that error. I have been able to shut off and reboot and get it to work but it is becoming annoying. Can somebody help me resolve this issue?

Thanks

Hi Maibad31,

I would like to check some more information on this issue and to do so; can you please post your dxdiag report here?

Hi Kevin,

In the meantime, I reverted back to Bios 0021. It seems to be stable right now so I will give it a day or 2 more and see if the problem continues. Here is the information with Bios 0021 data.

Any luck @kevin_intel ? I think this may have to do with an overheating issue as well. I remember seeing things saying set the fan to cool but the bios 0022 does not have that option anymore. My NUC works for awhile and then the computer freezes and stops working. A shutdown prompts the bootable device error. The error only shows up when that happens. It is like the NUC can't work for a long period of time

Hello Maibad31,

I am sorry for the delay on coming back to you. At this point, it seems that all drivers are installed correctly and updated as it should be.

Can you please try using the NUC with just one RAM memory stick? Can you also try clearing the cmos on it?

I did both of those and they problem still exist

Maibad31,

If possible test a different bootable device and make sure the drive is set as main at the bios level and there is no USB devices (flash drives) connected in the back. If issue persists after updating the bios, and testing different hardware I recommend you contacting your local support for further assistance or a possible replacement if needed.

Hello. It does not appear to be the same issue.

My computer boots normally and after it goes to sleep, like when it wakes up it presents de error.

I have updated the BIOS to the latest firmware, increased fan speed, and no luck so far.

Any additional guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Guys,

I need you to post the following:

  1. Attach your system information report.
  2. Provide step by step how to reproduce this issue.
  3. Are you connecting the SSD directly to the NUC or powering the SSD with an external power supply?

Kevin M
