I purchased Intel NUC Kit NUC7PJYH with Intel Pentium® Silver J5005 Processor and I'm experiencing problems using USB 3.0 with Mediasonic ProBox 4 Bay 3.5' SATA HDD Enclosure – USB 3.0 & eSATA (HF2-SU3S2) Link: http://www.mediasonic.ca/product.php?id=1357290977 Mediasonic .The problem is the constant disconnection. Even my external Seagate 4TB backup PLUS (have own power supply) disconnects, different 3.0 cables. I confirmed this because I have Threadripper PC and my External Seagate 4TB doesn't disconnects.
It disconnects when doing large file transfers (gigabit speeds) and when using Plex. Now I'm using USB 2.0 extension cable and it doesn't disconnects but my speed is slow (USB 2.0). Is there a driver fix for this USB 3.0 bug? I tried all the ports in the intel nuc all have same symptoms. Hope Intel fix this.

Hello wajin shu
I understand that you are currently experiencing USB 3.0 connection issues.
Regarding this, I would like to start by requesting an Intel ® System Support Utility report so that we can have more information about the system and that way we can attempt to replicate the problem. The System Support Utility tool you can download it by accessing the link below, please attach the report to this thread:

Here it is, btw I tried all the bios that available. Even the latest BIOS Update [JYGLKCPX.86A] 0039 have the same problem. Currently on 0027 but will upgrade to the latest again. I just want to check if the problem persist on all bios.
I tried the mediasonic on my Threadripper PC and no disconnection when transferring in USB 3.0.
I replicate this problem when copying big files from HD1 to HD2 on the enclosure (Only have 2 4TB drive in the enclosure) . Even on network transfer (Intel NUC to Threadripper PC HDD) it disconnects. Definitely the USB 3.0 of Intel NUC have the problem. Hope it will be fixed. Thank you.
EDIT: Currently resetting the PC to wipe all drivers and will see if it will persist on fresh install windows. Have image backup. I just want to see if it's driver problems. Gonna feedback later
EDIT2: It still persist even on fresh windows 10 1803 install so I don't know what to do now

Hello sausuke,
Thank you for your response.
Something we can try as well in order to fix this problem is to change the power settings of the USB, this can be changed by going to "Settings" > "System" > "Power & Sleep" > "Additional power settings" > "Change plan settings"(depending on the one you have selected) and then go down to "USB".
You can refer to the image attached in order to see how it should look like, please make sure to disable the option that says "USB selective suspend setting". Also, selecting the "high performance" plan is recommended to test this and see if the power is the problem of the disconnections.
Let me know please.
Regards,
David V

Okay, it seems to be fixed, I already tried the USB Suspend disabled (by searching Google) but not the High-performance Power Plan. So it seems the High performance fixed the problem. The power consumption is low even using this plan by looking at my power meter so I guess I have to use this plan from now on. Thank you.
EDIT: I tried this on charging USB (Yellow port) and the normal ones (Blue Port). They both work as well.

Intel NUC-Kit NUC7PJYH, i have the same USB3.0 Problems, Powersettings not help´s!
New Microsoft Driver X.662 is real crap, X.241 is unstable but works sometimes.
The Problem is the Driver for sure! I cannot understand why Intel not longer build own Drivers, and use this Microsoft crap.
