Intel NUC NUC7I7BNH: Windows re-size & move to top left of the screen after waking from sleep.

Hi Alberto,

I have issues with the new NUC I bought 2 days ago, where when waking from sleep, windows re-size & move to top left of the screen.

Following suggestions on this site I've -

  • I've updated the BIOS.
  • Modified the diplay driver to 4877.

The problem persists despite taking these steps.

FYI - rolling all the way back to the Microsoft basic driver fixes the window shrink issue but then the quality of the display is not great. This suggests the problem resides within the Intel driver..

Any advice please - this issue is killing my productivity..?

Thanks.

Hello clivo,

Thank you for bringing this matter to the Intel® NUC Community. I am sorry to hear you are having issues with this matter.

Have you tested the latest Intel® HD Graphics driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27412/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-60-?pr... Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows* [15.60]?

I tried that but its not the solution, please refer to the enclosed screenshots.

First up the installation resulted with this message....

So I tried a manual installation & got this.

You can try the following method for the installation: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005629/graphics-drivers.html Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 and.... The issue could remain after the installation of this driver, I have confirmed in our database that this is a know issue. Currently, we have debugged and investigated this issue, concluding that its occurring as per OS design. We filed an internal bug already [1209422154].

We are using this as the main thread to communicate updates about this issue with our users: /thread/102871 https://communities.intel.com/thread/102871

Thank you.

Hi Amy,

we seem to be going over old ground here; in my previous post I stated I tried a manual entry but my PC suggests I have the latest update (refer screenshot).

Looking through the forum, I can see this has been a know bug for well over a year. I'm puzzled how that can be...there is so much that's good about the NUC its a real pity that it has this issue....

Thanks,

Cliveo
