This happens quite often, at least once every day. The monitor goes black and displays "No HDMI signal". The NUC does not respond to the mouse and keyboard. The fan speed suddenly increases and produces a lot of heat. I have to long push the power button to turn the unit off and then back on again.
I've run Intel Driver & Support Assistant. All drivers are up to date. Antivirus scan does not find any problems. System files check and memory diagnostic also turn up nothing.
