Hi there,
I'm from germany and was a happy owner of a working NUC5i5RYH. On my NUC is running ESXi 6.5 with some VMs.
I've re-arranged my Desk and needed to shutdown my NUC for this.
After I wanted to start it up again it is only starting the FAN.
No Picture, No Sound, No energy on USB (Stick LED not on). I am not able to shut it down by pressing the powerbutton and always need to disconnect the power cord.
I've removed the RAM, SSDs, CMOS battery and still the same. Tried to reset the bios by moving the jumper from 1-2 to 2-3 and still nothing changed.
Has anybody an other idea?
Thank you for our help and Kind Regards

You had the system unplugged from power brick when you disconnected the CR2032 battery AND you kept it disconnected for a full 15 minutes?
If you power on with the SODIMM(s) removed, do you see the three flashes of the power button LED? Do you see any flashes?
If you then power on with one SODIMM installed, do you see the three flashes then?
How about when you add the other SODIMM, do you see three flashes then?
Moving the jumper from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3 doesn't reset anything. Where did you read that?
Place .BIO file for latest available BIOS release onto a USB 2.0 flash disk and insert this flash disk into your NUC, remove the yellow jumper completely and then power on the system. Should see screen display of BIOS Recovery operation. Turn system off and restore jumper when it says it is done. If you do not get any display, DO NOT POWER OFF FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES! Doing so could brick the system!

Hi
I've got the system unplugged over night from the power brick and the CR2032 battery but still the same.
There are no flashes without the SODIMM. The power button is just blue all the time.
With SODIMM installed there are now flashes, too.
I've not got a spare SODIMM to test another one.
I've read it here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005805/intel-nuc.html and even as the NUC is not listet I thought to give it a try.
I need to create a bootable USB stick for that? I can't see anything on the screen so I will not be able to choose the usb stick and the stick is not powering up as the led on the stick is starting to flash.
I've tried to boot it up with the jumper removed but unfortunately no change.
Thanks for your help

The unit also produces beep sounds, in case the LED flashing cannot be seen. Plug headphones into the front jack and listen while you power on.
If there are no beeps when the system is powered on without SODIMMs installed, this is an indicator of a hardware failure. You may have zapped it with static or something.
