Hi i recently got an intel NUC laptop and cannot run the NUC software studio at all. It requires "uniwill service" and everytime I install uniwill service it doesn't start. I havn't got it to start at all yet. I'm running Windows 11 and have had this laptop for only 1 day. Pretty confusing that intel has such terrible software. Everytime I try to start the service it gives "exception error 1064"
If I cant even run the nuc software that controls this laptop I'm definitely not going to keep it.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it won't run

Hi Steven,
I have the intel nuc laptop lapkc71f.
This is the nuc studio error https://ibb.co/f8tCLK6 and this is what happens when i try to start the service https://ibb.co/rbnPkYx
I have found the problem tho after uninstalling everything on my computer it was a program called FXsound being installed causing the uniwill server not to run. After uninstalling it the uniwill server ran for the first time.

I'll be honest with you i'm very unimpressed with this laptop. I was benchmarking 7k cpu score in timespy before i got into the NUC software and after i switch to performance mode and benchmark mode it's the same thing! Only difference is the 3070 scored higher. With an 11800h I should be in the 10k or close to it not 7k. I've been playing around with it for days now tweaking every setting and i'm at the point now where i'm probably going to return it. Can't even get 8k cpu score that's terrible. It's unfortunate because I very much like the laptop design and everything else but the CPU performance in unacceptable.

Hi,
I have the same device, this was in Benchmark mode.

Sounds similar to an issue I had where uniwill wasn't actually functioning. I had to download the BIOS update and run it again. It reinstalled and after that uniwill started actually opperating. Mine wasn't switching power modes and wasn't applying ANY fan curves at all. Yours may not be applying the power limit changes to the CPU.

I have noticed very serious fan issues where half the time they just won't even start till the cpu/GPU reaches 95c then it just downclocks till you get 7fps and the fan still don't turn on. There shouldn't be this many problems especially in a clean copy of Windows 11 with an updated bios. I had it for a week and just constant freezing glitches and no higher then 8k cpu in timespy.

I also did something with the dot net framework, I had a thread here somewhere with everything I tried.
It started working when I'd reinstalled the BIOS and did something to dotNet framework. It made no sense since I'd tried multiple fresh installs of Windows on both 10 and 11 versions.

The worst part is when im connected to my 3080 via thunderbolt it stutters every 2 seconds so much that I can't even play any games. And when im running on the laptops 3070 monitor out just having the 3080 EGPU connected drops the performance by 20% This thing has some serious problems never had any issues with my razer laptop. This is going back. Thanks.
