Hello HPBird,

Thank you for posting on the Intel Community.

To better assist you, please provide us with the below information:

  • Which type of connection are you using between the NUC and the display(s)? (HMDI* to HDMI*, DisplayPort* to DisplayPort*)

Provide us with the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU)

Hello HPBird,

Thank you very much for your response.

In this case, this is a known issue waking Display from Sleep When Using Intel Graphics with HDMI* connection. There is no resolution as of now, but Intel is investigating.

Here are some recommendations:

  • To get out of the state, you must restart or shutdown the Intel NUC.
  • Try graphics driver 27.20.100.8681, or later, as a timing delay was added that may help alleviate the issue.
  • You can also try the Type C port as it doesn't seem to have this issue.

I report "can not Wake from S5 after a S3 legacy resume.", not wake from HDMI CEC feature.

I have testing with USB-C display port on the same monitor (Remove the HDMI cable), the issue is still happen.
Can you have a help check the duplicate procedure?

Also, the problem can be observed that after S3 legacy resume, USB S5 power, might be loss.

Can you have a communicate with your development teams? It should be firmware issue.

Under "Power & Sleep/Advanced Power Settings/Power Options/USB Settings", have you disabled "USB selective suspend setting" ?  I think this disables USB power depending on use.

I was able to follow your steps without the S3 mode in-between the S5 modes and was able to wake from S5 5 times in a row using the mouse. Looks like after the wake from S3 sleep is maybe changing something before the S5 starts and it is not getting changed back.

Hello HPBird,

Just to verify if you followed the steps provided by MRoss5200, if the issue still persists let me know to proceed to check this internally with all the information complete.
