Hi,
I have a NUC11PAHi7 on which I use Kodi running on Windows.
I plan on purchasing a Dolby Atmos receiver. But, I was wondering if the NUC11 supports Atmos passthrough? I searched the forums and found posts about older NUC's supporting it - so I hope it does, but I would like to be sure before I buy something which I can't use.
In the technical specs I don't see Atmos - but just these:
AC-3 Dolby Digital
Dolby Digital Plus
DTS-HD
LPCM
Dolby TrueHD
DTS-HD Master Audio
So no Atmos. But, maybe that is not an issue if I just want to use the audio passthrough option in Kodi? Right now I am using passthrough already, but it is to my current receiver (a Dolby Digital one). My receiver is hooked up to my TV using ARC, and at the moment my NUC only recognises the TV it is connected to as having stereo support. But, Dolby Digital 5.1 works in this setup because I guess the audio just gets send from the NUC11 > TV > over ARC to Audio Receiver.
And it retains the 5.1 channels and doesn't get downsampled to 2.0. So I hope this will work the same with Dolby Atmos?
Kind regards,
Jaap

Jaap7, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.
In reference to your question and in order for us to be able to provide the most accurate information on this topic, could you please provide the specific model of the Receiver?
I looked on the Intel® Compatibility Tool for receivers that were tested by Intel® along with the Intel® NUC 11 Performance kit - NUC11PAHi7 but unfortunately, there was not any just yet:
https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?activeModule=Intel%C2%AE%20NUC
So, once you get the chance, please provide the specific model of the Receiver you want to purchase and a link if it is possible so we can check the specifications of it for us to try to provide the information that you are looking for.
Any questions, please let me know.
Regards,
Albert R.

Hi Alberto,
I plan on using it with the Sonos Arc:
https://www.sonos.com/en/shop/arc.html
Like mentioned - my setup would be NUC > (hdmi switch) > TV > soundbar (using HDMI ARC).
Using Passthrough in Kodi. The latter because even now with a Sonos Beam, the NUC just recongnises
the TV - and it has 2.0 support only. So Windows only sees support for 2.0. But using passthrough in Kodi the Beam can play video/audio with DD 5.1.

Hello Jaap7, I just received an update on this matter.
After reviewing the case, we can confirm that Atmos passthrough is supported by the Intel® NUC. Intel® will update the TPS with this topic but this is confirmed.
Since you are planning on going through a switch, please make sure that supports it as well, it should support it.
