Intel NUC8i3BEK - How can I disable iSCSI in the BIOS?

I have an Intel NUC8i3BEK.

In the BIOS there is the setting under:

/Devices / Add-In Config / iSCSI Configuration

My question:

How can I disable iSCSI in the BIOS?

iSCSI should not be active externally.

iSCSI should not be accessible from outside.

UMath, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

In order to provide the most accurate information, we will do further research on this matter to confirm how to disable the iSCSI option in the BIOS, as soon as I get any updates I will post all the details on this thread.

Hi UMath, I dont think there is a way to disable the iSCSI option within the BIOS. Is there any particular reason why you need to do that? Thanks, Ronny G

Hello Ronny G,

Thank you very much for your information.

I would like to install Debian 10 as an OS on the NUC8i3BEK.

When I then connect to the Internet via the OS, I am afraid that I am vulnerable from the outside. Because yes the iSCSI is activated.

Hello UMath, Thanks for replying back. I asked around among the product team and there is no way this option can be disabled in BIOS. I would recommend that if you really need to disable it, perhaps doing it at the Operating System level is the only option. I do not know how to do so in Debian 10 (Linux in general) but I am pretty sure that there should be a command to do so. I would investigate with the Linux community. I hope this helps, Ronny G
