Hello D1390

Thank you for posting in the Intel® community.

Please share with us screenshots of the SATA bios configuration that you are currently running.

Please attach to this thread the TXT file the Intel® System Support Utility will generate: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Steps to save the report:
  1. Run the utility.
  2. Click on "Scan" to get the scanned system.
  3. Once the scan is complete click on "next".
  4. Use the "save" option, save the report to your desktop.
  5. To attach a file, you must click the "Attach" option on the bottom right-hand corner of the response box.

Have you tried the Installation Guide for Intel® Optane™ Memory on your system?

Thank you for replying here is the the txt file. I did follow the installation guides to the best of my knowledge, and even went as far as resetting my NUC as if it were new and still got the error.

Hello D1390

Thank you for the information.
  • Please provide us with a picture of the disk management (right click on the Windows logo>disk management)
  • I have found a report of the same error code on the thread /thread/124199 https://communities.intel.com/thread/124199 in which the original poster solve the problem by leavening some unallocated space at the end of the main drive.
  • This unallocated space is also mentioned on the Intel® Optane™ Memory Installation Guide when installing the Windows operating system (OS); make sure to leave an "Unallocated" space with a minimum of 5MB at the end of the disk (page 5 section 1.2.3).
  • Bear in mind that the OS has to install on the SSD/SSHD/HDD.
Hope this helps.

Hello Leo,

Hello D1390

Thank you for the information.

In this case, the unallocated partition has to be on the end of the disk as mentioned previously; upon reviewing the screenshot, your partition is in the middle of the disk.

Allow me to share the Unsupported System Drive: Last Partition Unable to Resize Error for help with the disk management

Note: Before proceeding, we recommend backing up all data.

You could also contact Microsoft for more assistance about how to manage the disk partitions.

By the way, the OS is installed correctly on the HDD/SSD on your configuration.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, moving the unallocated space to the end allowed Optane memory to enable.

Again thank you for your help.

I had the same issue. I solved it by turning off windows defender before activating my optane. Just turn off realtime protection. It comes right back on when your computer restarts
