Intel Optane Memory for Linux on NUC

Hello,

I've been searching the site and chatting with support about this but I'd also like any ideas from the community.  Basically I'm building a couple of NUC8i5BEHs and  Intel Optane Memory looks like it might have potential on these machiines.  I've never used it before.

The OS will be Linux.  On the Intel website there's plenty of instruction about installing Optane for Windows, but the Linux info is very confusing.  Here I learn Optane is compatible with the NUC8i5BEH but no mention of the OS.  On this page I find there is an OS independent file RST-F6flpy***zip listed, implying Optane may work with a Linux system.  Other documentation suggests it doesn't.

The words "supported" and "verified" get used a lot, but in this case I'm not interested in them.  On the other hand, I'd be very interested in anyone's real experience who has got Intel Optane Memory to work on a Linux system and how they did it.

Is the goal to use the Optane as an NVME SSD, or to install Linux on RST/RAID using Optane + disk?  These scenarios are different.

I haven't tried either of these approaches but was researching the same topic last week.
