Hello.
My computer has been working fine for past couple years but now: 6 out of 8 USB slots are not working. and I get this message "Intel (R) 7 series/C216 Chipset family usb enhanced host controller- 1E26 has a driver problem" when I troubleshoot.
I have tried uninstalling the driver in "Device Manager" and rebooting the computer for re-installation but no luck.
I have tried Intel driver update detector but no luck either.
Please help. Thank you

Hi ,
My challenge is similar, but my HP Elite 8300 is telling me that the driver installation file is missing. Where did it go? How can I fix it? I'm baffled.

Have you checked the support files on HP's website? Have you contacted HP for support of their device?

Hi Al,
Thank you for responding.
Tried HP. Their AI customer support bots are worthless. HP suggested system restore, unfortunately I don't have that enabled, so it's a moot point. I didn't call their tech. dept. because my PC isn't under warranty, but for $99 they'll help me.
I just don't get it. I installed the Microsoft August security update and "POOF", no more driver file for USB Controller. It's exactly this kind of stuff that make me despise technology.
Why does this have to be like pulling teeth? I just want a straight answer but no one has "THE" answer (unless I pay for it of course).
Regards,
RR

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Download, run, and save the results of this utility as a text file:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility
Then ATTACH the text file using the instructions under the reply window ( Drag and drop here or browse files to attach ).
