Every time I reboot I'm asked to install 'Intel® Serial IO Driver for Intel® NUC'

I install it and then get the same message again. Any ideas on how to fix?

Which nuc?

Yeah, I was in a boot loop with idsa.  After I cleared the loop, I uninsralled IDSA.  Better to deal with drivers yourself rather than wait a month or more for idsa to fixed.

You might try disabling idsa startup in the task manager.

Same problem with my NUC10i5FNH.

The real problem: some of the NUC drivers (or Comet Lake-U drivers generally on other systems; I have an ASUS Zenbook UX434FAC with i7-10520U with similar driver confusion) and even BIOS updates are also updated automatically by  WIndows Update (see drivers section in the WU update history).

In the case of Serial IO drivers and a few others, Windows Update and IDSA are competing with each other about the driver superiority. Both install the same drivers but don't accept the other's existing installation.

And there is still the third case, like Thunderbolt drivers, where neither IDSA nor WU care about the driver  and there is only the manual way.

Intel and Microsoft! Clean up this mess and issue clear driver update rules!
