Intermittent hang on boot on Intel Nuc10i7

Hi there,

I bought a NUC three months ago and it has been working perfectly until last week where it started hanging intermittently during booting.

It makes it past the "Intel NUC" splash screen and then the screen flashes briefly with random colours, before going black, and nothing happens after that. The power button stays lit, and doesn't respond to long or short presses. I have to remove the power cable and reinsert it to get it working again.

I'm planning on returning it to the company I bought it from, but am concerned that they won't be able to reliably reproduce the problem and just sent it back to me.

If anyone has any advice or is experiencing this problem too I'd really appreciate any info you could give me.

Thanks

  • Did complete any updates before this happened?
  • Can you get to the BIOS? Which BIOS version are you running?
