I need to connect the audio output from my NUC to a mixer that has a USB port, hence the reason for the question. However, i have looked at various information that seems to imply that the only way to get audio out is either from the front panel audio jack or via HDMI, which would need an HDMI Audio Extractor to separate the audio. These tend to come out as analogue stereo or digital, but i have not found an extractor that will offer a USB output. The Mixer vendor recommends downloading and installing an ASIO driver. Please can anyone kindly offer any suggestions.

Hi Leon, Thanks for responding.
So if i understand correctly:-
use the analogue audio output from the NUC feed that into the converter
convert the USB from type A to type B
plug USB into the mixer
that should work.

Hi Roger,
Sorry for misleading you. I didn't understand your question correctly. I understand that you want get audio from USB port, rather then connect audio input to usb port.

Hi Leon,
Thanks for the update.
No need to apologize as It wasn't your fault. Looking back at what i wrote probably didn't make sense.
I have a Intel NUK which has audio out from a stereo 3.5mm jack or via HDMI. What i was hoping for was to see f it is possible to get audio out from any of the USB ports (as it is possible on some laptops or normal desktops) so that i could connect the output directly to my mixer which has a USB audio input specifically for connecting to PC's. i have search hi and low for an HDMI extractor that would offer a USB output, but no luck so far. The other way is to use the 3.5mm stereo jack output with some sort of converter to USB, however i cant find one of those either. I am sure there must be a solution with today's technology, so i need to keep searching. Alternatively i may connect Intel to see if they have any suggestions.
Thank again for taking the time to respond, much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Roger

Hi Roger,
I have to admit that I've never used Audio Mixer. However if your mixer has USB Audio Input, my understanding is that you can simply connect your mixer to NUC with an USB to USB cable, since the audio decoding will take place in your mixer. For faster data transfer, you may use also the Thunderbolt 3 output (USB C) on your NUC. Did you tried to connect your NUC to mixer input directly?
