Is the problem of no HDMI signal solved?

Jump to solution

Hi,

I still cannot use hybernate mode on my NUC7i5BNK (recent Windows 10 prof, recent drivers). The reason: After waking up the PC with mouse or keyboard the blue LED of NUC turns on, but the display gets no signal. The only way to recover from this is to hard shutdown PC. That's annoying, not least because the NUC keeps coming back on by itself, you have to press the power button three or four times and hold it for at least 10 seconds until the NUC finally gives up trying to start again.

Only then can you boot the NUC from Scratch and the display will receive a signal. My Display is connected via HDMI (tried DP, but no change; tried high end cable; display is LG 4k; tried to switch off and on the display and tried to change sleep mode for display in Windows to "no"; did update HDMI driver to recent version).

To clarify: This is not an issue of NUC not waking up - it does according to the LED. And it is not an issue of display going into sleep mode and not coming back. Display is set to never go into sleep mode.

Download this BIOS release as a .BIO file and then reinstall it using the BIOS Recovery process. This is documented here: Intel NUC BIOS Recovery Update Instructions.

Hope this helps,

It sounds like you are using a very old BIOS. Download and install the latest BIOS and see if this alleviates your issues.

Hi Scott,

thanks for input. I forgot to mention the BIOS. It's BNKBL357.86A.0079.EB, which should be the most recent.

Stefano

Hi Scott,

after a while of testing I can confirm that it did the trick. I installed the same BIOS update as before, only this time in the described way. Can't believe that one not only has to patch, but even "patch" the way to install the patches.

You spend a lot of time to help - really great job.

Stefano
