I'm looking to purchase a Intel Nuc Tall Arches Canyon NUC6CAYH Celeron J3455 Barebone and I understand that it can be particular about the memory.
Is HyperX Impact Black 8GB 1866MHz DDR3L (HX318LS11IB/8) compatible with this NUC?
Does it matter that this is one 8GB slot and not 2x4GB? Can a single slot be used or are there any issues with not using both slots?

It should be compatible (it certainly does not contain 1Mb or 2Mb technology DRAM components). 1600Mhz memory is recommended; little performance gain will be seen using faster memory. There is a performance penalty incurred when using only a single SODIMM, but this is typically not noticeable.
Hope this helps,

- Under this link (Memory Modules) , you will find list of Intel Verified memory modules for your NUC http://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails/ExportPeripheralInfo?moduleName=Intel%C2%AE%20NUC&productType=Kits&productName=Intel%C2%AE%20NUC%20Kit%20NUC6CAYH . You may see that 8GB modules are on this list.
- This is additional list with tested memory for your NUC: http://www.cmtlabs.com/2012/memCertPartSearchResultsAll.asp?bNav=True&sManuf=Intel&outside=False&sMN=NUC6CAYS%2FNUC6CAYH&oSubmit=Search
- As you can see the HyperX memory is not listed here. However Kingston memory with similar specifications is listed. So, is up to you to decide if you want to buy it.

Thanks guys for your assistance...
Just gone to purchase said NUC and it's gone out of stock 😯
I'll get one of the memory modules off the list. The only reason I went with the HyperX was that it looked like it would be compatible and it was available from the same supplier. I wouldn't think it would be incompatible however one of the verified ones fromthe list would be better....
